Professional Summary

I've spent the past several years exploring the intersection of physics, IT administration/engineering, and leadership. Now I am looking to the future with a more concise goal to take my career to the next level. I am looking to enter into the space of my ultimate passion: R&D. In this area my plan is to showcase my technical and leadership abilities until I am a known force within the industry. Inherently I know that this will require that I continue my education in either the technical or leadership side, hence my plans include a doctoral degree in physics or an MBA.

Profile
R&D project for the Cyber Club at RRCC that required a whole system design, both physical and virtual.

STEM Career

In my senior year of high school I took a Networking fundamentals class that introduced me to the world of IT. After high school I found myself looking for a job and decided to use my new skills at Geek Squad. Later I enrolled in Red Rocks Community College for school and was even given a position in their IT department starting at the helpdesk. There I learned about enterprise level administration and IT leadership (following the ITIL framework). Working at the school and towards my Assocaites degree was a really fun mix of skills. During COVID I took a semester off of school and work at TrinWare to learn more about enterprise level administration and engineering. I went back to RRCC to finish my Associates degree and again found myself working back in the IT deparment with a focus on major projects. This is when I began delving a lot more into programming, project managment, containerization, data science, and machine learning. When I completed my degree I found a fulltime job at the Community College of Aurora as a systems administrator while I started the Bachelors program at CU Denver. After a year I realized I wanted to be done with my degree so I left CCA and committed to school fulltime. The past year finishing my degree I worked part-time for my research advisor, making it my first official research role! Now that I have finished my degree I am enjoying my summer, which of course includes revitalizing my homelab server.

Gigs and More

Besides my passion for STEM I also have tried out a multitude of short "gig" style jobs over summers and etc to try out fun things. I've been a barista, cook, roof inspector, IT tech, and more. My absolute favorite was working for Avid 4 Adventure one summer as a survival skills instructor. In summary I, along with a partner, would take a group of 8-12 year olds into the Rocky Mountains for a day and teteach them basic survival things. I've always been quite outdoorsy and so this was the definition of getting paid to have fun. While there were times it was difficult, it was just an incredible experiance to make it a memorable summer for some kids. Overall I think that taking the time to learn other skills such as sales, or broaden my horizons by working in the service industry has really made me more well-rounded.
